Camp at Kodachrome Basin State Park
We got up very early in preparation for photographing the sunrise over The Canyon. I don't think we had our watches set properly for Arizona time, because we missed it completely. We packed up and headed to Desert View to see the tower and one last look at the Grand Canyon before heading into Utah. Another long day headed into Utah, but the scenery was amazing. Utah is beautiful. Arrived at Kodachrome Basin with enough time to set-up camp and Shrek headed out for a hike. S'Mores tonight.

A spectacle of sandstone chimneys, changing color and shadow with the day, from red-tinged spires contrasted by the open blue sky, to the gentle evening light blanketing the desert. This color and contrast inspired the National Geographic Society (in 1949) along with Kodak's consent, to name the park Kodachrome. Contact information in pic below.
