|Peace Love Hike|
Yes, headed north to Yosemite Valley. I was wanting to give my knee some rest and thought I would be better off if I headed to a place where I could get transportation if I needed it. I headed back into Yosemite and called home. After relaying the new itinerary to my husband, I bought my ticket for the 5 PM bus to TM from the YARTS driver and then headed for a shower at Curry Village. When the 5 PM bus arrived the driver informed us that the route was closed due to a landslide leaving debris in the road. As the potential riders began to raise a commotion, one passenger grabbed a ranger to confirm that the road had been reopened. To the driver's dismay (he was not getting off early now) he ended up taking about 20 people over to Tuolumne Meadows. Here I could get some rest and hopefully catch another Lady of the JMT for a day hike to Cathedral Lakes.
On the bus ride over, I met Jojo and Crystal who were hiking the PCT. They are putting together a movie of their experience. Check them out at Faith in Transit on Facebook. As we chatted we realized that we lived like an hour from each other. We shopped at the TM store and then headed over to the backpacker's camp. We settled in with another East Coaster as the cold began to roll in. Hmmm... what next? A great rainstorm? Mother Nature has a way of answering sarcasm.
